Basic Lunge Exercise for SEXY, TONED Legs

It has been such a request for me to create a video to show how to acheive sexy, toned legs.
I think this is such a desire of so many women out there, especially when summer time comes around.
Some women are born with naturally, beautiful legs and what a blessing they have been given!

Click the link below to watch my demonstration.

For the rest of us, who have to work at it a little more, here is one of my all time favorite exercises to create sexy, toned legs! (:

The basic lunge is one of my favorite lower body toning exercises to do and it´s one that I practice a few times each week. I love this exercise because of it´s simplicty; with this one move, it hits all the major muscles I am seeking to tone in my legs.

You can practice the basic lunge with the use of dumbells or without.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE BASIC LUNGE

1.Stand with your feet about a foot apart

2.Keeping your toes pointed forward, step forward 2 or 3 feet with your left leg. Your left foot should be flat on the ground

3.Bend your left leg until your knee is at a 90 degree angle (your right leg will also bend, and your right heel will lift off the ground)

4.Hold for a second

5.Return to starting position

6.Repeat steps 3 - 5 until you've repeated the desired number of reps

7.Now repeat all steps with the other leg

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

**For building muscle size: 3 sets of between 6 - 8 reps. For muscle tone: 3 sets of between 12 - 15 reps.**

MUSCLES WORKED

PRIMARY
Quadriceps (Front Thigh/Quads)

SECONDARY
Gluteus Maximus (Butt)
Adductor Magnus (Inner Thigh)
Soleus (Calf)

STABILIZER MUSCLES
Hamstrings (Rear thigh)
Trapezius, Upper (Upper traps)
Trapezius, Middle (Middle traps)
Levator Scapulae (Neck)
Tibialis Anterior (Shin)
Gluteus MediusHip)
Gluteus Minimus (Hip)

Do you all practice the basic lunge in your exercise routine?
If not, give it a try and let me know what your results are!

A New Addition To The Family! :D

In case you haven’t watched my latest You Tube video, “A New Addition To The Family & My Live Radio Show”, I will fill you in about our new little girl! (: NO, I did not have a baby over night and I have no plans of doing that anytime soon! Aha!

As many of you know, my husband likes to run and does so about six times a week. Well, last Sunday he went out for his usual trial run and saw three dogs in the woods. He stopped, as he has a soft spot in his heart for lost dogs. There was one large dog, a medium sized one and a tiny one. As he slowly approached the dogs the two bigger dogs walked away but the tiny one laid down on the ground as if she wanted Arturo to pick her up.

Long story short, it looks like we are keeping her!! (:

Here are a few photos for you all to view and enjoy!

Supplements I Take...

I am currently reading an AMAZING book, "The Mood Cure" by Julia Ross.

In this book, Julia, explains the importance of taking natural supplements to help us overall feel our bests.

She talks about four common "moods" that most people can identify with atleast one or more of these four "moods". She recommends taking various natural supplements to help you become more balanced and ultimately conquer your "moods".

Before reading this book, I really had no knowledge of supplements and their benefits.

Julia suggests that everyone take "basic supplements" which I will talk about below.

Vitamin C
It is an essential vitamin and one of the most important to the body. It keeps testosterone levels high so we can perform on demand.

Magnesium
A mineral found in every single cell in your body. Helps to maintain normal nerve and muscle function, keeps the rhythm of your heart steady, and your bones strong. It is also involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis.

Fish Oil
It helps to maintain a healthy brain and nervous system. The oil from fish itself is said to promote healthy brain, nerve and visual function, a healthy heart and joint flexibility.

Calcium
It is among one of the three most important minerals for athletes. It is known famously for promoting health and strong bones. Low intake of calcium results in inability of the muscles to relax. It is also very important for fat metabolism.

Vitamin D
It is a classified steroid-hormone. It can help regulate the phosphorus balance and helps maintain and healthy heart and nerves.

B Complex
This vitamin is not a single vitamin but rather the extracts contain several vitamins. These vitamins have been given numbers to better identify them. B6 helps promote a healthy liver, B9 helps absorbs things in the cells, and B12 helps give you energy.

Multivitamin
It is thought of that no one who is training can reach their true potential unless they are taking a multivitamin because they provide so many necessary vitamins and minerals that our bodies need.

I am really feeling great since starting to take my supplements!

Do you all take any supplements?
If so, which do you take?
